The second edition of Meer Koet, Minder Afval builds on the learnings and conversations that emerged through being on the water, on boats, in the studio, in schools, and through presenting the project to many different publics during the first edition. This produced a foundation of resources and while the project originated as an in-depth master’s research inquiry, its second edition has grown into something new that holds many voices and bodies. While some will share their knowledge and expertise at some points, others will commit to learn with us and stay on board for a while.

Working with our more-than-human environment requires us to adapt our ways of working to its cycles and modes of living. As we aim to anticipate and better understand the needs of local waterbirds, our collective workload, tasks, and skill sets continue to shift and transform.

Meer Koet, Minder Afval 2.0

This growing archive on this website is therefore our attempt, over the coming year, not only to document the production-related aspects of our work, but also to share reflections and insights on how we seek to work in alignment with natural cycles and their life-defining ongoingness. Moving along with the seasons, we will look back at our collective practice and how it’s impacted and shaped with the seasons.

We are happy to have you, dear reader, on board for this journey.
